What We Offer
Information & Referral: Provides information and access to resources on agencies, groups and programs which offer assistance.
Mentoring: In-depth assessments are conducted with those who are interested in working with a mentor to meet the goals established on their Individual Development Plan.
Sponsorship: Provides gifts of clothing four times a year, camping opportunities and other necessities for children in need; one-time assistance for overdue utility or rental payment in times of crisis; baskets of food at thanksgiving and Christmas; food in times of crisis.
Care Now: A partnership with the Mid-Maryland Baptist Association designed to meet the needs of the unchurched utilizing information and referral resources and Christian mentors.
Family and Individual Ministries: Training programs which directly support families and and individuals, such as Parenting Power, our seven-week classes, free and open to the community, designed to give parents the skills to enjoy being a parent while living up to its challenges.
Church and Community Ministries: Focuses on providing assistance with developing and enhancing ministries to children and families, as well as offering training, technical assistance, consultation and workshops on topics relating to children and families.
Professional Ministries: Resources and supports a variety of professionals who provide care to children and families within a Christian context. Consultation, training, research, networking and continuing education is available for clergy, educators, counselors, social workers, child care providers, treatment foster parents, and mental health professionals.
Treatment Foster Care: Children who have been abused, neglected, or suffer because of some other family crisis, receive individual attention and treatment from specially-trained families in their homes.
In-Home Support Services: As CHOSEN children return to live with their biological families or move into independent living environments, services are provided in their homes.
Respite: Short-term planned placements provide a safe environment for children in times of crisis or are utilized as a means to prevent more permanent out of home placement.
