What's New at the BFCS

Baptist Family & Children's Services (BFCS) has an immediate opening for a therapist in its treatment foster care and in-home services programs.  BFCS employs a faith-based approach to working with at-risk families and children.  The agency also provides a wide array of wraparound services for children and families in need of a new start.

The therapist will provide treatment interventions for behaviorally/emotionally disturbed children and their families (biological and/or foster) using a behavioral, solution-focused approach.  The therapist will also be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective agency treatment plans, working closely with children, families, community agencies, and churches.  The applicant must be a team player, as he/she will work collaboratively with and oversee a case manager who assists in carrying out the above tasks.

Requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other related field.  Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.  Two years post-masters experience with this population preferred.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule with evening and weekend hours, have own transportation, demonstrate ability to teach others, communicate effectively and provide crisis intervention.  Must be mission-oriented, quick learner, team player, and independent worker in an environment of individual accountability and high productivity.

Excellent salary and benefits.  Send resume, four references and salary requirements to:  Rev. Robert H. Gerstmyer, BFCS, 7175 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite F, Columbia, MD 21046-2537.
